Welcome back Dolls! It’s time for another lippie review from yours truly, and I am excited to do this again after some time. I hope you guys had a wonderful new year. It’s also the start of February so I know some are looking forward to Valentine’s Day as well. So let me give you this review and maybe this will become your go to lippie for Valentine’s Day. Let’s get started…
So my lippie choice of the day is YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Stain in True Orange.
Yves Saint Laurent Beauty created a matte liquid lipstick/lipstain in 28 gorgeous shades. The True Orange shade was just so perfectly vibrant and called out to me so I tried that on.
When I say this is a liquid lip-lip stain, it has the properties of a liquid lipstick yet dries onto like a lip stain, so you feel like their isn’t anything on your lips. Very lightweight and opaque.
The packaging is so cute and chic.
Lets talk about packaging. The top cover handle is gold with the YSL logo on it. With the frosted square shaped tube.
The short applicator is actually one-of-a-kind since it gives a liner-like shape to it that allows you to precisely outline your lips while filling them in too. It is very useful and I actually like how ingenious it is.
So when it comes to color, it is very opaque and not at all streaky. The consistency like I said, was of a liquid lipstick. It wasn’t runny nor too sticky like gloss. And one swipe actually gave good coverage. The color is a bright coral red. I believe you can never go wrong with a bright coral red color on any skin tone.
Are you ready for the lippie look?
The lip stain was amazingly full coverage with one swipe. And the color is very vibrant. It was quick drying on application and completely matte that glides on perfectly on your lips.
The use of the applicator with lining my lips made it easier too.
The lip stain lasted for quite some time. Pass the 8 hour mark they claim. It wasn’t as transfer-proof as claimed to be, but even if it did a bit, the color on my lips did not fade nor come off.
Very lightweight, as if you aren’t wearing anything on your lips. It did not dry my lips out like most matte lipsticks do or lip stains. My lips felt moisturized even with it on.
I matched this lippie with a simple smokey green-gold eye look just to contrast with the lippie.
Overall, I am very impressed with this Lippie. It has almost all aspects checked. It may be on the higher price point side, but hey, its YSL, you are technically paying for the name and the good quality.
